Meet Russ, a proud spouse and loving parent to six amazing children, including four biological and two adopted children. With thirteen cherished grandchildren, Russ truly has a full and blessed family life.

Growing up as the youngest of six in a blue-collar middle-income family, Russ experienced a difficult upbringing marked by violence, abuse, rejection, and pain. Despite these hardships, Russ persevered and found solace in drugs. But after a journey of self-discovery and healing, Russ found freedom from addiction and embarked on a new path of serving others.
As a pastor since 1991, Russ dedicated his life to offering guidance, support, and hope to those in need. Russ' life journey is a testament to the power of resilience, love, and faith.

Russ Smith is a dedicated minister whose journey in faith alongside his wife Traci has led them from the vast landscapes of Montana to the vibrant community of Surprise, Arizona. As native Montanans, their commitment to serving others has been unwavering across their 30+ years of ministry.

Having grown up attending Christian Life Center, Russ's connection to his "home" church runs deep. His leadership journey, which began over three decades ago as a youth pastor in Missoula, Montana, has been characterized by growth, both personal and communal. With a vision rooted in the transformative power of love, Russ has led congregations through seasons of expansion, revitalization, and community engagement.

His tenure at Midtown Church saw exponential growth, from a small gathering to a thriving community hub, marked by inclusive outreach initiatives and collaborative partnerships with local organizations. At City Church, Russ spearheaded a dynamic ministry, witnessing substantial congregation growth and the establishment of impactful community programs.
Russ's commitment to holistic ministry extends beyond the pulpit. As a chaplain at Community Medical Center, he provided compassionate care to individuals and families during times of vulnerability and transition, demonstrating his dedication to service beyond the confines of traditional church settings.

With a Master's Degree in Ministry and a wealth of experience in leadership development, community networking, and church planting, Russ embodies a vision of ministry grounded in authenticity, inclusivity, and spiritual empowerment.
